Rubaiyat (Mowgli) and Elisabeth (Liz) = mowgliz

Rubaiyat Mansur Mowgli has worked as a wildlife photographer and nature guide in the Sundarbans mangrove forest since 1992.  In 2002, he became a researcher conducting cetacean surveys in waterways of the Sundarbans mangrove forest (Smith et al. 2006) and coastal waters of Bangladesh and Myanmar (Smith and Tin 2006), while also serving as trip leader for survey logistics, navigation, and vessel management. 

In the winter of 2005, with support from the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, he initiated and carried out fieldwork for an investigation on the abundance and movement patterns of Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, using photo-identification techniques in the waters surrounding the Swatch of No Ground in the Bay of Bengal. 

In the summer of 2006, Rubaiyat spent one month as a volunteer intern with the Mote Marine Laboratory Sarasota Dolphin Research Program in Florida under the supervision of Dr. Randy Wells.  Rubaiyat currently works as Principal Researcher for the BCDP.  He has been selected as a 2009 Global Fellow in Marine Conservation, which has enabled him to attend the Duke University Marine Laboratory
