Having worked for over a decade in the Sundarban forest and adjacent areas as guides, wildlife photographers, educators and research assistants, Rubaiyat Mansur Mowgli and Elisabeth Fahrni Mansur are intimately connected with the people and animals dependent on this forest's resources.
With the support of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) they established the Bangladesh Cetacean Diversity Project (BCDP), which aims to conserve the cetacean diversity and abundance in Bangladesh in collaboration with local communities and institutions.
As BCDP's Principal Researcher and Education and Training Coordinator they develop and implement locally appropriate and feasible research and environmental education and training programs to develop science-based community informed conservation measures that protect Sundarbans healthy biodiversity and sustainable use of its natural resources.
